About Me

Andrea M. Garraway was born and raised in Guyana, South America. She is earning her doctoral degree in the Counselor Education and Supervision, accredited by CACREP program, at Liberty University. Andrea presently holds an Honors Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and an Honors Associate, degrees both from Medgar Evers College. She prides herself on being a devoted family-woman, scholar, and global citizen. 

Andrea is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Qualified Supervisor (QS), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) with international status (ICAADC) and Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor (ICCS). She has over 10 years of clinical experience working in community mental health, private practice, and middle school /high school settings. 

Andrea is engaged in educational reform, policy development, advocacy, mentorship, teaching, and research. She frequently presents at local, state, and regional conferences, coalitions, and collaborative meetings, to promote prevention and mental health integrated wellness. She publishes in the areas of child and African American women development, specifically counselor education, burnout, and persistence. She has contributed to local newspapers, billboards, and publications, also, she has conducted several radio and television interviews.
